James Gill received his medical degree at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1988 and completed his family medicine residency and his fellowship in Health Services Research at the Medical Center of Delaware. He also completed a master’s in public health at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Gill is a board-certified family physician who has provided care for patients of all ages for over 25 years, with a special interest in caring for whole families from newborns to elderly. He is President of Family Medicine at Greenhill in Wilmington, DE, and is attending physician at several area hospitals. He also works as a volunteer physician for the underserved in his community. Dr. Gill has been active in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care learners for over 25 years. He is the founder and President of Delaware Valley Outcomes Research. His research on improving quality of care and use of electronic medical records has been published in many national and international journals. Dr. Gill holds a research faculty appointment at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Gill has been active in quality of care and in creating guidelines and standards of care. He helped to develop guidelines for the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Medical Society of Delaware. He also sits on the Board of Directors of both local and national organizations, including the National Osteoporosis Foundation, the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians, and Catholic Charities of Wilmington.
